The fact that the actor is always surrounded by fans in love with Joe also worries him. On previous occasions he has said that what Joe feels is not love, and that the character is a “bad white man”. However, he understands what can go through the viewer’s mind, although he says that “this is terrible”.
There are times when Joe is so incredibly friendly and even honest and courageous. Sometimes it is just the perfect balance between being a gentleman and allowing your partner to be autonomous and empowered. He’s, in a way, made to be the perfect guy who does it for real – to say it’s terrible is almost an understatement.
