At the time of “Snyder Cut” and with fans of comic-inspired films completely interested in knowing more “director’s cuts” behind the main releases in recent years, we even had some interested in this project, like David Ayer, from Suicide Squad ( 2016), but those who are interested in a new cut of X-Men: Dark Phoenix may already lose hope.
The film was a critical failure, but Simon Kinberg, its director, says he was perfectly satisfied with the cut that came to film sessions in 2019, and is not interested in launching any other edition of the project.
He explains in a conversation with IGN:
“The film that they released was, ultimately, my vision for the film. That vision changed throughout the production of the film. There are other scenes that we shot, just as there are many other scenes in [Dias de um Futuro Esquecido] that we shot and didn’t end up using. When you’re making a film as a screenwriter, it’s never the same as you conceived it. And when you make a film as a director, it’s never the same as the one you shot. In this case, it is probably more significantly different. But in the end, I was happy with the cut … that we shot, edited and finished. “

Also remember the official synopsis of the film, according to 20th Century Studios Brasil:

During a rescue mission in space, Jean is almost killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. back home, that force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but much more unstable. Struggling with that entity within her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she cannot understand or contain. With Jean out of control, and hurting those who she loves the most, she begins to unravel the line that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to come together, not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our own planet from aliens who wish to arm themselves with this force and rule the galaxy. “
