The Varilux Festival of French Cinema takes place every year with the exhibition of French films in cinemas in the main cities of Brazil. Exclusively in 2020, due to the preventive measures that closed the cinemas in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, the festival will be held online and totally free!
Looke, a platform for renting and buying films in digital format, recently announced that the French Embassy in Brazil and Essilor / Varilux are sponsoring this solidarity initiative that, according to the official website, aims to “ease the quarantine days”. The official announcement follows:
“Watch the selection of 50 great films from the latest editions of the Varilux Festival of French Cinema at home for free until August 25!
Comedies, dramas, historical, fantastic and children’s films, the selection is diverse and recent. “
Among the main films available are Love at Second Sight, Snow White, Stolen Innocence, Gauguin: Trip to Tahiti and My Baby. The animations Um Gato em Paris and Asterix and the Secret of the Magic Potion are also included.
