Two million Brazilians have already joined Monica’s Gang in the flesh to discover the whereabouts of the dog Floquinho. The long Turma da Mônica Ties – The Movie reached the milestone this Friday (2/8), just over a month after debuting on the big screen. More than 300 rooms are still exhibiting the characters’ adventures in 289 cinemas. To celebrate, the distributor Paris Movies has just revealed a new material, with scenes from the film.
The father of the group, Mauricio de Sousa, surprised the fans and visited a session of the film, in a São Paulo cinema, to accompany the audience’s emotion. “I am very pleased to have you here, as I know you are going to see a good Brazilian film. I want to continue producing stories, books, magazines, cartoons, as I have been doing for 60 years”, He said at the time.
“Our goal was to thrill and have fun, so we are very happy and satisfied with the audience’s response to our film”, Celebrates Daniel Rezende, Movie’s director.
Turma da Mônica Ties – The Movie is based on the homonymous work launched in 2013 by the brothers Vitor and Lu Cafaggi, which became the best-selling Brazilian graphic novel in the country. The film is a production of Bionics Movies and Digital Yard, in co-production with Mauricio de Sousa Produções, Latina Studio, Paris Entertainment, Paramount Pictures and Globo Films. Distribution is by Paris Filmes and Downtown Movies.
