The live action Turma da Mônica Ties – The Movie it has been seen by more than one and a half million spectators, who were thrilled to follow the adventure of the most beloved group in Brazil, now in the flesh, in search of the little dog Floquinho. The milestone took place on Wednesday, when the feature completed 21 days on the air. The film can still be seen in 471 theaters in 440 cinemas across the country.
The film’s director Daniel Rezende celebrates “Very happy to know that Brazilians are having fun and getting emotional with the country’s biggest pop icon in its live-action version in theaters. Long live Monica’s Gang. Live the national cinema”.
“MSP is very happy with the receptivity and affection of the public since the film was released. Achieving this mark is very significant and demonstrates the success of Turma da Mônica Ties – The Movie, in addition to strengthening Brazilian cinema. To make the moment even more special, last Friday (12), the viewers who watched the film Turma da Mônica Ties – The Movie on the network Kinoplex helped to change the reality of abandoned animals in Brazil. For each ticket purchased for the film on this day, R $ 1 was allocated to AMPARA Animal, an institution that assists more than 450 shelters in the country. The action was an exclusive partnership between the Kinoplex chain, the Paris Movies and Mauricio de Sousa Produções (MSP).
Before that, the film was honored with a special magazine from Monica’s Gang # 141 that is already on newsstands. In this edition, readers accompany the Madman through the film set of the feature film Turma da Mônica Ties – The Movie and learn how to make a film. Other promotional actions were carried out by partners such as BIC and Suzano, Ri Happy, Pernambucanas, Fom, Kalunga, Lifemix and Sam’s Club, Grande Mercure Hotel, among others.
Monica’s Ties – The film is based on the homonymous work launched in 2013 by the brothers Vitor and Lu Cafaggi, which became the best-selling Brazilian graphic novel in the country. The film is a production of Bionics Movies and Digital Yard, in co-production with Mauricio de Sousa Produções, Latina Studio, Paris Entertainment, Paramount Pictures and Globo Films.
