Originally broadcast by Antena3 in the last half of 2019, the Spanish series Toy Boy just arrived on Netflix and is giving the talk.
Even with little publicity, the series managed to reach the position of most popular title of Netflix Brazil on Wednesday, March 11.
To understand a little of the production’s success, check out the dubbed Toy Boy trailer below:
The first season of the series follows the story of a stripper who, after spending time in prison, received his parole. With the help of a young lawyer, she will try to prove at the next trial that she is innocent, and that everything was a setup by her lover to blame him for the murder of her husband.
The production stars Jesús Mosquera and María Pedraza, already known to Netflix subscribers for their participation in series such as La Casa de Papel and Élite.
The first season has 13 episodes, each lasting just over an hour each, a little more than usual for the original Netflix productions. Toy Boy is only shown worldwide by the streaming platform, not involved in its development.
However, it is worth remembering that La Casa de Papel started the same way and, when it exploded on the international stage, it became a Netflix product.
What will Toy Boy’s course be on the streaming platform?
