When Spider-Man returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he quickly evolved from “web player” in criminals to Avenger in training. In this evolution, he leaves aside his homemade fantasy and gains a new, iconic and technological costume, which, according to the actor, is too fantastic to really exist. In The Avengers: Infinity War, the character of Tom Holland will receive a new costume so incredible that it doesn’t even exist in real life, the Iron Spider, and which is a little frustrating in the recordings. The actor explains on The Graham Norton Show:
“In this film, I have a new uniform that Tony Stark gave me. It is an update, and it is too fantastic to exist in real life … Essentially, I have to wear pajamas. I wear these pajamas with balls on them that light up. It’s super cool. It’s not. I’m on the set with the Avengers, who are wearing costumes that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, made by the best seamstresses you can imagine, and I’m there in pajamas bought at Marks and Spencer “, he jokes with the retailer brand.
It is always amazing to see the costumes of films based on comic books, but the appearance during filming is not always as beautiful as what we see in the final product. Many heroes will wear new uniforms in Infinity War, and that of Spider-Man is probably the most incredible, made by Tony Stark with material similar to Iron Man’s armor. This costume is currently impossible to recreate in real life, so Tom Holland wears a motion capture outfit that is not pretty, but is efficient.
You can see the result on April 26 in theaters. For now, watch the trailer below:
