THE FOX Film do Brasil confirmed today (27) that Tolkien, film about the life of the writer JRR Tolkien, will arrive in national cinemas with premiere for May.
The studio released the national poster and the subtitled trailer.
The film has the actor Nicholas Hoult like JRR Tolkien, author and English teacher best known for his works as Lord of the Rings and Hobbit.
Lily Collins it will be Edith Bratt, Tolkien’s partner and inspiration for the characters in the saga Lord of the Rings.
In the plot, we will follow the beginning of Tolkien’s life, while the author seeks friendships and artistic inspirations in a group of misfits like himself. Thus, we will see the First World War shake this “society” created by Tolkien and how these experiences served as inspiration for the author to write his famous works on Middle-earth.
Complete the cast Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris and Derek Jacobi.
With direction Dome Karukoski, production has a script David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford.
Tolkien arrives on May 23 in national cinemas.
