AND Mandy Moore stole the show in this episode focused on his Rebecca, doing what This is Us always causes us, tears. She just rocked through all the dramas where Rebecca just wanted to go to see a painting in New York …

We accompanied Rebecca as a child at the Museum of New York watching a woman observe a beautiful picture, and the episode unfolds is always a journey of her with her family to New York to do something, but never manage to return to that place to relive that moment.

When the children are still small, she and Jack do everything possible for everyone to have their space, but they end up wasting time on the short trip and she can’t get there …

When they are teenagers, shortly after Jack’s death, they return to New York to see Kevin perform with his theatrical group, and when she tries to escape to go see the painting, she meets Kirby (Dave Annable) and her memories make her run away from him and go to see the painting.

But now, with her going on the red carpet for Kevin’s movie launch, she gets that time right when everyone starts fighting…

Kevin and Randall do not understand each other and here begins a real fight between them over who knows what is best for Rebecca. Randall wants her in a clinic to treat the early onset of Alzheimer’s, while Kevin wants her to live the moments, he doesn’t even say he doesn’t want her there, but he finds it very early. And that separates them …

Seeing the family like that, she goes to the famous painting and tells the story of when she was young and fell in love with the woman looking at that painting, feeling like an adult and wanting to do like her one day, go there, watch the painting and spend hours alone looking and trying to feel what that woman felt seeing the work.

This is Us throws us into this hurricane of feelings and makes us care for all the characters and shows us their flaws too, that not everything is just love, and that memories hurt, like Randall thinking that if he were young and had been tough on his father, he wouldn’t have gone back into the house, and so he wouldn’t have died …
