It was announced on Tuesday (17) that Netflix is developing a live-action of The Winx Club. According to the information, the first season is already being recorded and will feature Abigail Cowen (Sabrina’s Dark World) in the main role, as Bloom.
Although the audience was excited by the idea of turning the beloved animated series into live-action, criticism has already started to emerge with some of the already warned changes:
Apparently, the series will not feature the characters Flora and Tecna – at least not in the first season – and the Trix, three villains and characters of great importance in the drawing, were mixtures in just one season.
In addition, fans point to possible whitewashing (whitening) in Musa, a character whose fictional planet is inspired by oriental cultures and brings Asian traits in his appearance.
Among the rest of the confirmed cast, Hannah Van Der Westhuysen will be Stella, while Precious Mustapha will be Layla and Eliot Salt will play Terra, a new character. Sadie Soverall will play Beatrix, the villain, while Freddie Thorp will play Riven and Danny Griffin will play Sky, two of the prominent male characters.

Named “Fate: The Winx Club Saga”, the adaptation will be a Young Adult (YA) version of the well-known animation.
The first season will have a total of six episodes and, as revealed, is already being recorded in Ireland.
There is no preview yet.
