Mandaloriano is the newest Star Wars series, released weekly by Disney + which has not even been officially launched in Brazil, but is already a great success. However, the most beloved character in the audience is not the protagonist mercenary, but a fluffy creature of the same species as Master Yoda who was affectionately nicknamed Yodinha (or Baby Yoda) by Brazilians.
Since its appearance in the series, the public has questioned the start of the sale of dolls and other official products inspired by Yodinha, and Disney’s response is somewhat disappointing: according to Vanity Fair, the production of The Mandalorian determined that the marketing of character products should only start in 2020.
It is a strategy to keep the character’s identity a secret: we still know little about Yodinha, and we did not even imagine that such a character would participate in O Mandaloriano before his appearance in the series, a surprise element that worked due to the secret kept also in product marketing.
On the contrary, for example, of how it was with the BB-8 and the Porgs of the last two Star Wars films, which were revealed to the public even before the feature films debuted.
