Suzanne Collins, author of the Hunger Games literary saga, which gave rise to the film franchise of the same name, revealed that a new book is on the way.
The new book, however, will not continue the story of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), but will be a prequel, set 64 years before the events already known to the public.
In her statement, the author comments:
“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are and what we perceive to be necessary for our survival. The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Black Days – while the country of Panem is recovering – provides fertile ground for the characters to deal with these issues and thus define their views of humanity ”.
The cover of the book has already been revealed. Check out the image:
The book is expected to be launched next year, in 2020. In Brazil, Collins’ work is published by Editora Rocco and it is expected that the new book will also be released here, although the publisher has not yet commented on the project.
It is not yet known if there is a pretension that the book will be adapted for theaters like the rest of the saga, but rumors indicate that it is.
