While Brazilians keep talking about Parasita, winner of the Oscar for Best Picture, the South Koreans are going to the cinema to check out the premiere of An Honest Candidate, a South Korean remake of the national comedy The Candidate Honest, originally starring Leandro Hassum .

The story of the new version follows Joo Sangsook, a congresswoman in her third term who is an expert in telling lies. She prepares for the new elections but, out of nowhere, she is unable to lie. Will she win the fourth term with her new honesty?

The stele of the film is Ra Miran, already known from Korean productions like the film Hope (2013), Miss & Mrs. Cops (2019) and dramas Avengers Social Club (2017) and Menting Me Softly (2019).

The film premiered in Korean cinemas on February 12, last Wednesday, and was the most watched in South Korean cinemas last weekend.

Despite being inspired by a Brazilian film, the film is not expected to be released in theaters in Brazil.
