A number of international sites are reporting recently that renowned actor Sylvester Stallone has been tipped for a new film based on comic books. The idea is to have the star in Starlight, adaptation of Mark Millar’s HQ.
20th Century Fox is eyeing Sylvester Stallone to be, precisely, the protagonist of the plot. He is a superhero who got married, had children, aged and leads a normal life, until he received a call with a new intergalactic mission.
Despite the speculation, there is not much concrete information related to this. It is not known, for example, whether 20th Century Fox made a proposal to Sylvester Stallone, or whether the deal has been going ahead at the moment.
It is known, on the other hand, that there is an intention to produce a Starlight film. In 2014, it was announced that Gary Whitta was confirmed as a screenwriter and Simon Kinberg would take over the production. Since then, new information has not been released.
It would not be Sylvester Stallone’s first work as the protagonist of a film based on comic books. In 1995, Stallone played the leading role of Judge Dredd – in Brazil, entitled O Juiz – however, critics and the general public did not like the production.
Stallone is also scheduled to play Stakar Ogord, the Starhawk, in the film Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. with this character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
