Although the popularity of Bird Box with the general public, the expert review does not seem to have liked the film very much, but one person in particular disagrees with the negative comments: Stephen King.
Known as the Horror Master, writer Stephen King is active on social media and often comments on film releases of the genre – whether adaptations of his own books or other authors.
Knowing well the universe of adaptations and the difficulties in making a good film based on literary material, King defends the Original Netflix version of Josh Malerman’s work. Read the author’s tweet:
“I was absolutely intrigued by BIRD BOX (Netflix). Don’t believe these cold criticisms, which may have been partly caused by the critics’ ablivalence to the streaming platform, as opposed to theatrical releases.”
In another tweet, the author talks about prejudice against Netflix movies:
“It can be said that film critics suffer from the terrible PN syndrome: Prejudice against Netflix”, in free adaptation for Portuguese.
Starring Sandra Bullock, Bird Box officially arrived on Netflix last Friday (21). Check out the subtitled trailer:
In the future, the population faces a violent outbreak that causes suicide. This has to do with the fact that people see. The situation makes the few survivors blindfolded. Among them is a mother (Sandra Bullock) and her two children, who live by the river. They must flee on a boat, seeing nothing, while being chased by a mysterious being.
