Star Wars: The Rise Skywalker hasn’t even been released yet, but it’s already a real hit.
Last Monday, October 21, was marked by the birthday of Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), the launch of the new official trailer for Episode IX and the opening of worldwide ticket sales for the film.
Sales have already started with everything, including breaking the record for most tickets sold in advance. In just one hour of opening, Star Wars: The Rise Skywalker surpassed Avengers: Endgame, hitherto box office leader, with 45% more tickets sold.
In the top 5, according to the American website Atom Tickets, two other films in the franchise can be found in 4th and 5th position, being Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, respectively.
Directed by JJ Abrams, the film promises to bring a cohesive outcome to the Skywalker saga, which has been the center of the entire Star Wars franchise since 1977, with the premiere of A New Hope in theaters.
While the feature already makes good profits for Lucasfilm and Disney, the premiere will only be on December 19 in Brazilian cinemas.
