“We desperately love Carrie Fisher. Finding a satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without it eluded us. We will never replace it or use a CG character. With the support and blessing of your daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and her character as Leia in Episode IX using unseen footage that we shot for Episode VII. “
