Charlie Cox talks about clashes between Matt Murdock and Elektra

Mara Jade, a character in the Expanded Universe of Star Wars, may appear in the IX episode of the franchise in theaters. The rumors came when people from That Hashtag Show heard JJ Abrams, director of the feature, and Nina Gold, casting director, say that they are looking for an actress between 40 and 50 years old to play one of the main roles of the film, identified until the moment like Mara.

Introduced in the 1991 novel, Star Wars: The Heir to the Empire, the character was originally the “Hand of the Emperor”, a Force-sensitive special agent who was sent by Palpatine on key missions. After the destruction of the second Death Star, Mara became the second-in-command of smuggler Talon Karrde, but she was still determined to kill Luke Skywalker to avenge Palpatine’s death.

However, this was mainly driven by a telepathic command that Palpatine had placed on his head before he died, but Luke was able to break Palpatine’s power over Mara. Books later, Luke helped Mara to improve her skills in the Force, they married and had a son named Ben. Mara was killed by her nephew, Jacen Solo, after discovering that he would become a Sith.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
