The fashion for curved TVs passed away a few years ago, but the technology industry is still experimenting with bent matrices. One of the corporations that still believes in the power of curved panels is Samsung. The Korean company at the CES 2020 trade fair presented the world with a unique monitor in this category, which is supposed to change the way we perceive computer games. Until now, we could only admire him at technology fairs, but now he will go to the stores.

Samsung Odyssey G9 is a 49-inch monster working in Dual Quad High-Definition resolution. Under this somewhat lengthy name lies the 5120 × 1440 matrix with a 1000R curvature. The Japanese corporation believes that thanks to this configuration, the equipment will be perfect in the gaming environment and will allow us to fully immerse in the virtual world.

The company has implemented a number of technologies into the Oddysey G9 to make playing more enjoyable. The matrix tempts not only with high resolution and an unusual form: it also offers a response time of 1 ms and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The equipment is also compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and Adaptive Sync technologies, thanks to which it will synchronize image refresh with graphics card operation, preventing the effect of tearing. The screen is also compatible with HDR10 + technology, and its matrix is ​​covered with a layer of quantum dots, which will ensure that it displays vivid and natural colors.

As befits a gaming toy in Odyssey G9, there was a configurable backlight system. The monitor housing can be illuminated with one of 52 colors, and we also have five backlight works available.

Samsung Odyssey G9 will debut in Poland in early August, but the company did not reveal how much we will pay for it. In the United States it was valued at $ 1,700, which suggests that it will cost about PLN 8,000 on our market.
