Based on the real story of Carlos Alberto Puch – oldest prisoner in the history of Argentina, incarcerated for more than 46 years -, The angel is starring the young rookie Lorenzo Ferro, like Carlitos, and for Chino Darín, who plays his partner, Raul. The cast also Cecilia Roth, Mercedes Morán, Luis Gnecco and Peter Lanzani, among others. The direction is Luis Ortega.
Argentina’s official representative at the 2019 Oscars, the film was selected for the Festival Um Cannes Certain Régard, in 2018, when he also participated in the San Sebastián Festival. Also last year, he integrated the programs of the Festival do Rio and the São Paulo International Film Festival.
