New Amityville movie is on its way

Charlie Cox talks about clashes between Matt Murdock and Elektra

According to an article published on Monday (17) by Deadline, Wonderfilm Media Corporation announced that Amityville 1974, a prequel to the popular horror movie franchise, has been confirmed and is due to start shooting later this year, in November.

Its plot will address the story of the actual massacres that inspired author Jay Anson’s 1977 bestseller, The Amityville Horror, and all the many films that have been released since then based on the case.

This new project will be directed by Casey La Scala from a script he wrote, focused on the murders that date back to November 1974, when Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot six members of his family: his two parents, two brothers and two sisters.

“This is a story that takes its starting point from the real events surrounding the Defeo tragedy, but it also focuses on the human drama that took place within a family and how they were relentlessly pursued by a terrifying evil.” Scala.

Jeff Bowler, founding partner of Wonderfilm Media, comments on the production: “We are very excited to present Amityville 1974. Casey has a truly unique and terrifying vision for the horror franchise and the audience will experience it as never before with this film.”
