After news that Mulan had his world premiere postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Niki Caro, the film’s director, went public on his Instagram to share a message about the difficult decision.
In her personal social network, the filmmaker comments:
Dear Mulan fans,
Making this film was one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences of my entire career, and I was fortunate to be on that journey with some of the best actors and crew in the business – people who really embody the attributes of “Loyal, Courageous and True”. We are very excited to share this film with the world, but given the current changing circumstances that we are all facing, unfortunately, we have to postpone the worldwide launch of MULAN for now. Our hearts are with everyone, all over the world, who has been affected by this virus, and we hope that Mulan’s fighting spirit will continue to inspire those who are working so hard to keep us safe. Thank you for all your enthusiasm and support, and I can’t wait for the day when we all get to know this story of a warrior who became a legend together.
