THE Social Comics, online platform for reading comics in digital version, starts this month the publication of classic magazines from Monica’s Gang, since number one. Originally published in “formatinho” by Publisher Abril, from the 1970s, comics enter the platform weekly, always with two editions. The first numbers are already available.
THE Monica’s Gang appeared in the newspaper strips, the first of which was the appearance of the characters Bidu and Franjinha, in July 18, 1959, in the newspaper Newspaper. Then came Cebolinha, Cascão, in addition to Mônica, who appeared in the Cebolinha comic strip in 1963, as well as Magali, Astronauta, Horácio and many others, who later migrated to the comic books published by Abril and Globo, and currently by Panini Publishing House, and which have been so successful since the beginning until today. From now on, this entire collection begins to be digitized and can be accessed online, from anywhere, through the streaming. The initiative is part of the celebration of the 60-year career of the comic artist Maurício de Sousa, which is a historic and very important landmark for the national and world comic.
The most traditional comics of the group can already be found on the platform since 2016, but new content from MSP will be announced soon. Recently, the number zero of the Monica’s Generation 12, the last release in partnership with Editora Panini, and which was also featured in the last edition of the festival Anime Friends.
THE Social Comics is a streaming service for comic content with a similar concept to Netflix, which makes new comics available every week, and it is even possible to download them for offline reading. It is the largest platform of its kind in Latin America and has comics for all ages available in its catalog. The Platform is in version 3.0 and has many innovations in the user experience, in addition to the option to create a free account that gives access to navigation through the platform and the reading of various editions, in addition to new and diversified subscription plans, with special conditions. for users of the cell phone operator Claro, in addition to the Kids profile, with access according to the age group.
The platform’s collection consists of titles produced by independent authors, major content developers and also from the largest publishers in Brazil, with titles such as Monica’s Gang, Disney / Pixar, Umbrella Academy, Valiant, Transformers, Strangers in Paradise, 10 Rolls, among many others. Subscriptions cost from R $ 12.99 and R $ 4.99 (monthly and weekly, respectively, for Claro customers). To subscribe, the Claro customer must send an SMS with the word ACTIVE to 3001 and download the App Social Comics on Google Play or the Apple Store. It is also possible to make other subscription plans, with several options (such as Family, Premium and others).
