League of Legends comics to be released in partnership with Marvel

A long-standing demand from fans of the League of Legends (LoL) game was the desire for its creators to further explore its rich history and mythology. Players always asked for some animation or movie derived from the game.

However, Riot Games – the game’s developer – decided to meet this expectation in another way. They started to bet on small comic books that tell some adventures of the characters.

Now, strong support has arrived to leverage this project once and for all. Riot has partnered with none other than the expert on the subject: Marvel!

From now on, Marvel will publish several comic books inspired by the mythology and characters of LoL. The first one will be Ashe: Mother Warrior and will tell the origin about the cold archer – one of the most classic and popular characters in the game.

History editions will be launched on a monthly basis, on digital platforms. The first of them arrives to the public on December 19 of this year.

Read the official synopsis of the story:

“Raised in the wild forests of the north, Ashe is a Glacinata, a warrior endowed with a magical connection to her frozen land – and overwhelmed by her mother’s fanatical expectations. When they set out on a dangerous search for the truth behind an ancient myth, the bonds are broken, the secrets come to light and Runeterra is changed forever. Will young Ashe become the leader her people need? Or is destiny just an empty dream? ”
