Last week, a 2015 South Korean movie gained prominence among Brazilian Internet users after going viral on Twitter.
This is the comedy feature Casa Amor: Exclusive for Ladies, remake of the Brazilian hit De Pernas pro Ar, released in 2010 and starring Ingrid Guimarães.
The film, until then little known by Brazilians for not having been released in national cinemas, nor available on streaming platforms, became a topic after Jãofi (@joaofilimas) spoke about the production on his Twitter profile. He says:
With more than 10,000 likes, the publication still plays with the possibility of a Brazilian remake of Parasita, a successful film that became the first South Korean feature film to compete in the category of Best Oscar Film.
The popularization of the tweet led several Brazilians to become interested in seeing the film, which follows a similar script: Bo Hee has just been fired and, to get money, he gets involved in the sale of erotic products with his neighbor, Nan Hee. The film stars Cho Yeo Jeong (Parasite) and Clara (Emergency Couple), popular actresses in the country.
