Sulli was found dead on Monday (14) in her South Korean apartment, just 25 years old. The police confirm that the cause of death was suicide.
According to reports, the artist’s body was found by her manager on the second floor of her apartment. She would have hanged herself. Police said Sulli suffered from severe depression, more details were not revealed.
Choi Jinri, better known by her stage name Sulli, was a popular singer and actress from South Korea. She had her debut in 2009 as a member of the group F (x), managed by SM Entertainment.
The artist left the group in 2015 to focus on her acting career, and recently released a solo song, Goblin, in addition to opening his own store, the Jinri Store.
Several South Korean artists canceled events and new album releases this week, out of respect for the news. Among them, groups such as Super Junior, Monsta X, VAV, Elris, N.Flying and singer Kim Taeyeon, a member of Girls’ Generation, postponed their activities.
Solo singer Amber, also a member of F (x), announced on her Twitter that her new single promotions will be postponed due to recent events.
On Twitter, more than a million tweets have been carried out under the name of Sulli since the information about his death. K-POP fans exchange condolences and recall happy moments of the artist, who had a life marked by her activism as a feminist, although she was often criticized.
