KOCOWA, a South Korean streaming platform, was officially launched in Brazil last Monday, August 12th.
The service represents the union between KBS, SBS and MBC, three giant broadcasters in the country, and aims to distribute their productions internationally, such as dramas (soap operas) and variety programs, with professional subtitles.
Its launch in Brazil is an achievement of the #KocowaComeToBrazil campaign, started on Twitter at the end of 2018 by the blog Além Do Que Se Vê. The petition created and disseminated reached more than 7500 signatures, drawing the attention of streaming and ensuring its coming to the country.
“I am very happy to be able to offer the KOCOWA service to Brazilian Hallyu fans. I intend to continue offering high quality services so that K-Pop and K-Drama fans can enjoy quality South Korean entertainment, always in Portuguese. “, says the CEO about the novelty.
At the moment, 40 titles among dramas and episodes of variety shows are already with Portuguese subtitles on the platform’s website and application. More subtitled options should be available soon.
Subscriptions can now be made through the platform’s website, www.kocowa.com, with promotional values available for a limited time.
