New names for the live-action cast of The Little Mermaid released!
This time it was the THR staff stating in a publication that the actors Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina, also negotiate participation in the film.
Last week we had the information that Melissa McCarthy negotiates the role of the villain Ursula!
The pair of actors must live the supporting roles, Tremblay will dub the mermaid fish Ariel, Sole, and the comedic Hollywood sensation, the Sabidão gull.
Of course, Disney did not speak, the protagonist nor was confirmed, names like Zendaya and Chloë Grace Moretz circulated for some time.
Launched in 1989, the feature marks the Golden Age of the animations of the study in the late 80s, and early 90s, with The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, all the previous ones have seen films in live-action. In the plot, Ariel is a sixteen-year-old princess mermaid dissatisfied with life under the sea and curious about the world on earth. She falls in love with a human prince and makes a deal with the sea witch to transform herself into a human.
The last information that came out was that Lin-Manuel Miranda would make new songs along with Alan Menken.
A director for the film has not been confirmed, but the publication says the studio wants to Rob Marshall, who commanded Mary Poppins Returns, to assume the live-action. David Magee signs the script.
News is expected at D23.
