Ryan Murphy and a list of projects for Netflix + AHS, Crime Story and Pose!

The director had already commented that the series will deal with the Golden Age of Hollywood. In an interview with Time Magazine, Murphy says “The series will be a look at Hollywood, and the sex industry, and how absolutely everything has changed, even if nothing has changed”.

There will be 7 episodes that will revolve around a group of new actors and directors who try at any cost to win in Hollywood after the Second World War.

Each character offers a unique look at the backstage of the Golden Age of American Cinema, shedding light on the injustices and prejudices of race, gender and sexuality – problems that persist today. Provocative and incisive, Hollywood exposes the power dynamics that have existed in the entertainment industry for decades and tries to envision what would happen if it were disrupted.

The cast includes David Corenswet, as Jack; Darren Criss, as Raymond; Jeremy Pope, like Archie; Laura Harrier, as Camille; Samara Weaving, like Claire; Dylan McDermott, as Ernie; Holland Taylor, as Ellen Kincaid; Patti LuPone, as Avis; Jim Parsons, as Henry Willson; Jake Picking, as Rock Hudson; Joe Mantello, as Dick; and Maude Apatow, as Henrietta.

Hollywood arrives on Netflix on May 1.
