Hercules, popular animated film released by Disney in 1997, is about to be transformed into live-action: according to recent reports, the production is already under development and will have the signature of Anthony and Joe Russo, already known to the public for their excellent performance in the Avengers franchise films.
According to what was reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action will also feature a script by Dave Callaham, also involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the writer of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The history of the origin animation addresses the Greek myth of Hercules, son of Zeus who lives as a mortal on Earth, exiled from Mount Olympus. He’s a demigod, but he’ll need human contact to understand what it’s like to be a real hero.
The animated version was a musical, but it is not yet known whether Hercules’ live-action will follow the same line, recalling the changes that occurred in Mulan, for example.
Even in Disney + times, the film is expected to hit theaters, but remains unreleased to date.
