It was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that HBO Max ordered a new production without a script, provisionally titled Hot Dog, which will be a canine care competition.

The program will feature 12 half-hour episodes each, in which three dog carers will compete against each other in challenges inspired by social networks and books by the popular caregiver Jess Rona, who enters the series as the main judge. A team of celebrities and a host will be announced shortly.

“Jess Rona has made her name as a star dog keeper and it’s so fun to be able to bring her incredibly successful brand and online businesses to life this way,” says Jennifer O’Connell, executive vice president of HBO Max original nonfiction and children’s programming. “Expect pure escapism that the whole family can watch together and root for your favorite dog with the most fabulous and creative transformations.”

Created by Jax Media and Nicolle Yaron (Making It). “We are very excited to be working with Nicolle, Jess and HBO Max on this very important project,” said Jax Media partners Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Brooke Posch and John Skidmore. “There is no better time to watch a dog bathe than now.”

Hot Dog’s debut preview has yet to be released.
