After the success of Game of Thrones around the world, HBO would not let the series simply end in its seventh season, broadcast in the first half of 2019.

Barely six months have passed since the last episode of the saga aired, but the broadcaster confirmed on Tuesday, October 29, that a prequel series is on its way to HBO.

Called “House of the Dragon”, the new series will focus on the history of Casa Targaryen, based on the book Fogo & Sangue, also by George RR Martin.

On the official Game of Thrones page on Facebook, the announcement was made (in English): House Of The Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones is coming to HBO. The series is co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as a showrunner and will direct the pilot and other episodes. Condal will be writing the series. ”
