This week the first official trailer for Fast & Furious 9 was released, a new film from the hit franchise, and the return of Han Lue (Sung Kang) to the cast sparked fan interest.

For those who don’t remember, Han was killed in the film Fast & Furious – Tokyo Challenge (2006) in a car accident caused by Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). With Shaw winning a spin-off alongside Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and consequently joining the Toretto (Vin Diesel) “family”, great discontent was generated among Han fans.

In order to get around the situation, director Justin Lin said he would give justice to Han’s death and, it seems, the time has come.

It is still early to try to understand how the character comes back from the dead and what happened during the period when he was out of action, with little information officially confirmed, but one of the theories that make the most sense within the context of the work is that Han, from somehow escaped before the vehicle caught fire.

His disappearance, according to the same theory, can be explained as Han choosing to take time out to recover from recent trauams, including the death of his girlfriend, Giselle (Gal Gadot).

This would not be the first time that a “dead” character returns to the scenes, already seen in the participation of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) in the franchise.
