News for the cast of The Watch, series BBC, based on books Discworld!

According to Deadline the actor Richard Dormer, in game of Thrones, will be the protagonist of the production. He will interpret Sam Vimes, the Captain of The Watch.

In the books Vimes is described as a character who looks like a mixture of a typical English policeman, with a noir film detective and the actor Clint Eastwood.

The actors also complete the cast Adam Hugill (Carrot), Jo Eaton-Kent (as Constable Cheery), Marama Corlette (Corporal Angua), Lara Rossi (Lady Sybil Ramkin), and Sam Adewunmi (Carcer Dun).

The production will have 8 episodes with scripts Simon Allen.

Discworld is a series of comic fantasy books composed of more than 40 volumes that was written by Terry Pratchett, where the first book was released in the 1980s with the title The Color of Magic.

The plot is set in Discworld, a flat planet balanced on the back of four elephants who in turn are on the back of a giant tortoise, the production will accompany a group of people who will come together to save a city on a dangerous journey.

The Watch has no premiere date.
