THE FOX Premium, responsible for the exclusive rights to broadcast the series The Young Pope in Latin America, revealed two new official images of the long-awaited sequel The New Pope. The photo features the stars Sharon Stone and Marilyn Manson in the Vatican.
After an excellent reception of its first part The Young Pope, available completely and exclusively in Latin America on the FOX app, the new eight episodes that make up The New Pope are in the post-production phase under the direction of the Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino, responsible, among other productions, for The Great Beauty (2013) and The Young Pope (2016).
The cast of The New Pope is again led by Jude Law and add the talented John Malkovich (In the Line of Fire) for the new season. In addition, the Peruvian Ramón García, the Italians Silvio Orlando (El Caimán) and Maurizio Lombardi (Dov’è Mario?); the Spanish Javier Cámara (Conversation); the Belgian Cécile de France (Beyond life) and French Ludvine Sagnier (Swimming Paso). Among the new faces of the cast are Henry Goodman, Ulrich Thomsen, Mark Ivanir and Massimo Ghini.
The New Pope has script by Paolo Sorrentino with Umberto Contarello and Stefano Bises, and is Sorrentino’s second limited series focused on the world of the modern papacy.
Shortly after confirming the sequence of the controversial saga and even before filming began, FOX Premium announced in May 2017 the acquisition of exclusive rights for Latin America of The New Pope. The 10 one-hour episodes of the first part of the series are available exclusively on the FOX app for FOX Premium subscribers across Latin America. The new season will also be available in the app.
