Filipe Duarte, Portuguese actor who played Gaboboyfriend of Telma (Adriana Esteves) at soap opera Amor de Mãe died today (17) after suffering a myocardial infarction. The actor was married to the Spanish actress Nuria Mencía, with whom he had an 8 year old daughter.

In the soap opera Amor de Mãe, the characters of Filipe Duarte and Adriana Esteves, Gabo and Telma, even planned to move to Portugal, which by coincidence was the native country of the late actor. However, the soap opera’s protagonist gave up on leaving when her daughter-in-law, Camila (Jessica Ellen), had her pregnancy interrupted.
In an interview with the newspaper O Globo, Filipe Duarte described his coming to Brazil:
Despite being a Portuguese citizen, I am born in Angola, where I lived until I was 3 years old. Brazil has this natural wealth that reminds me of my roots there. So, I didn’t have any adaptation problem.
