Disney Princesses: 5 movies to watch during quarantine

During the pandemic of the new coronavirus, one must stay at home to prevent further spread of the disease. Thus, such a period can be a great opportunity to watch films that marked the childhood of thousands, such as classic films with Disney princesses.

5 Disney Princess Movies:

1- Cinderella (1950)

Cinderella (or Cinderella) is a Disney classic released in 1950. Thus, the film tells the story of a young woman named Cinderella, who lost her mother when she was a child. However, in order not to leave her daughter without a maternal figure, Cinderella’s father marries Lady Tremaine, a widow who has two daughters, Drizella and Anastasia.

When Cinderella’s father dies, the new stepmother starts making her stepdaughter do all the housework, in addition to treating her very badly. However, Cinderella’s fate will change when an invitation to the royal ball is sent to every single young woman in the kingdom.

2- The Little Mermaid (1989)

Launched in 1989, the film The Little Serie tells the story of Ariel, a 16 year old mermaid fascinated by the human world. One night, Ariel goes to the surface and witnesses the birthday of Prince Eric, with whom he ends up falling in love. On the same night, the ship on which the party takes place suffers a shipwreck, but the mermaid manages to save the prince. Leaving him safely on the beach, Ariel still sings for Eric, but leaves before he wakes up.

The prince is fascinated by Ariel’s voice and starts looking for her. Meanwhile, Ariel’s father, King Triton, discovers that his daughter is in love with a human and that she has been collecting human objects. Enraged by his daughter breaking one of his rules, the king destroys Ariel’s objects and she ends up being desolate. At that time, two eels appear and take her to Ursula, the sea witch, who promises to fix the situation. However, Ariel will have to pay a high price for this.

3- Mulan (1998)

In 1998 the film Mulan, based on the “Balan de Mulan”, an ancient Chinese song by an unknown author, is released. Thus, the film begins when a group of Huns invade the Chinese wall, and the invasion alarm is triggered. When the emperor becomes aware of the invasion in his territory, he orders the army to be summoned and a man from each family is called to serve.

Meanwhile, Mulan, the only daughter of the Fa family, prepares to meet the matchmaker. However, the meeting is going badly and she and her family return home with their honor. The situation only gets worse when Mulan interferes with the enlistment of his father, who is ill. Upset that her father had to serve the army even in poor condition, Mulan steals his father’s ancient armor, his sword and his horse and flees to enlist instead.

When they realize that Mulan has fled, her desolate parents decide not to say anything, because if they discover that a woman has enlisted in the army, they will kill her.

4- Valente (2012)

The movie Valente was released in 2012. It tells the story of Princess MĂ©rida, of the Dunbroch clan, who is passionate about archery. However, her mother, Queen Eleanor, does not approve of her hobbies and spends most of her time teaching her about her kingdom and how to be a princess.

Mérida doesn’t like classes very much, but when she finds out that she will have to marry one of the heirs of the allied clans, she goes into despair. Merida and her mother fight. Eleanor ends up burning Mérida’s bow after the princess tore the tapestry woven by her mother. So, with a broken heart, Mérida flees to the middle of the forest, where she ends up meeting a witch who will change her destiny.

5- Frozen (2013)

The movie Frozen was released in 2013 and went on to be Disney’s biggest box office record hitting $ 1.27 billion. The story begins with Arendelle’s two princesses, Anna and Elsa, playing while they are still children, when Elsa accidentally hits Anna with her icy powers. Her parents, the king and queen of Arendelle, soon wake up and take their daughters to the magic trolls to heal Anna. There, they discover that Elsa’s power can be both beautiful and dangerous, and with that, they decide to isolate the palace from the outside world, to protect both princesses.

Then years pass and the princesses’ parents die. So, on Elsa’s 21st birthday, she should be crowned queen. When this day arrives, the palace is opened for the first time and every kingdom is invited to the coronation, as are representatives of allied countries. One of these representatives is Prince Hans, with whom Anna falls in love, and they both decide to get married on the same day.

Anna, excited, decides to tell Elsa and ask her blessing for the wedding. However, Elsa finds the decision absurd and refuses to give her blessing as queen for the wedding, which triggers a fight between the two sisters. Elsa loses control and ends up revealing her ice powers. Frightened and fearing to hurt someone, Elsa flees to the mountains and accidentally throws an eternal winter over Arendelle. Thus, Anna sets out on her quest to resolve the situation.
