The list of comic artists invited to the greatest Artists’ Alley of the Southern Hemisphere continues to grow. Cristiana Eiko and Paulo Crumbim are the new names announced for CCXP19 – that happens between December 5th and 8th, at Expo São Paulo. The artists will have a table in the audience’s favorite space and will be at the festival every day to meet fans who want to buy their works, get an autograph and take a photo.
Cristina Eiko was born in São Paulo and graduated in Design. The artist worked with animation in commercials and feature films as Secret of Kells and A Story of Love and Fury. In 2010 he started to draw Comics A2, together with his partner Paulo Crumbim. He also created the Graphic MSP Penadinho – Life, released in 2015, and in 2017 released his first solo comic, Fault, in the collection Screams gives Ugra Press.

Paulo Crumbim was also born in São Paulo, but in the city of Santos. The artist completed the faculty of Advertising and, a few years later, migrated to animation. Worked on A Story of Love and Fury, in addition to several commercials and for Folha de São Paulo. He is the author and screenwriter of comics Comics A2, and Penadinho – Life, with Cristina Eiko. Among his solo works, for which he worked as a draftsman and screenwriter, are Gnut, Experimental web and print HQ, Cambria / Terrain / .exe, A Long Dress / Without Me, Kettling! Firehose! Schadenfreude!, a range of experimental zines between 2017 and 2018, and Noise, from the 2018 Ugritos collection.
The couple met in 2005, while working on the animated feature film Asterix and the Vikings. Both already made comics informally in their sketchbooks, with small records of everyday life. After the 2009 FIQ, they decided to make comics together. In 2010, they started to draw Comics A2, publications that had two editions printed with compilations of their autobiographical HQs. The work 25th HQ Mix Trophy in the category “Best independent publication by author”.

In 2018, the festival received 262 thousand visitors, setting a record attendance and establishing itself once again as the largest pop culture festival in the world.
