Audience successes in cartoon Network and on TNT, the series Brother of Jorel and Augusta Street were awarded this Tuesday (23) at 1st Independent Production Award, presented in Rio2C, the largest creativity and innovation event in Latin America.
Coproduced by TNT and O2 Movies, Augusta Street, was elected the Best Fiction Series and Best Soundtrack (signed by Lucas Marcier and Fabiano Krieger). Already Brother of Jorel, gives Copa Studio, won the trophy for Best Animation Series. In early April, the animation signed by Julian Enrico received the same recognition in the second edition of the Quirino Awards, in Spain, which promotes the Ibero-American animation industry.
On television since 2014, Brazilian animation Brother of Jorel, co-produced by Cartoon with Copa Studio, tells the story of the youngest son of an eccentric family of accumulators. With the help of his best friend Lara, he faces life’s first obstacles at a breakneck and fun pace. Always doing everything to not be overshadowed by the popularity of his older brother, the protagonist never has his name revealed. New episodes of the third season will air every Monday at 8 pm on Cartoon Network.
Exhibited by TNT between March and May 2018 and directed by Pedro Morelli and Fábio Mendonça, Augusta Street approached the underworld of drugs, prostitution and entertainment in one of the most famous streets in São Paulo, which gives the series its name. Fiorella Mattheis, Pathy Dejesus and Milhem Cortaz are part of the cast. The soundtrack for the series, awarded at Rio2C, is available at Spotify.
