The acclaimed filmmaker Niki Caro brings the epic legend of the iconic Chinese warrior to life in Mulan, from Disney, in which a fearless young woman risks her own life for the love of her family and country to become one of the greatest warriors in all of China.
When the Emperor of China issues a decree stating that one man from each family must serve in the imperial army to defend the country from invaders from the North, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honorable warrior appears in the place of his sick father. Disguised as a man, like Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must control her inner strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform you into a revered warrior and lead you to earn the respect of a grateful nation… and a proud father.
The celebrated international cast of Mulan includes: Yifei Liu like Mulan; Donnie Yen as Commander Tung; Jason Scott Lee like Böri Khan; Yoson An like Cheng Honghui; with Gong Li like Xianniang and Jet Li playing the Emperor.
The film is directed by Niki Caro and the script is by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek based on the narrative poem “Mulan’s Ballad”.
