Charlie Cox praises Ben Affleck’s Daredevil

Charlie Cox talks about clashes between Matt Murdock and Elektra

Today we met Daredevil, a Marvel character who is part of The Defenders team, through the interpretation of Charlie Cox in the series produced in partnership with Netflix, but more than a decade earlier, in 2003, the character had already been taken to movie theaters starring Ben Affleck, the current Batman in the DC Comics Cinematic Universe.

Although at the time the production was not very well received by fans of the character and, to this day, is a reason for joke among some groups of Marvel fans, Cox surprised the audience with his when asked about the old film during Comicpalooza, in Texas, assuming a fan of the actor:

“Personally I think Ben Affleck’s performance as Daredevil is fantastic. I really like his Matt Murdock and I stole a lot of things. I think he did a great job.” This does not mean, however, that he likes the film.

“I don’t like the original Daredevil film. I don’t think it worked very well and we found out the reason for that with the show, [o problema] it’s the character’s tone, which goes with something darker and more sinister. In my opinion, the best comics from Daredevil are those aimed at a more mature audience “.
