Cosplayers can now start preparing for another year of fierce competition in the CCXP. Starting today (Monday, 14), registration for the Cosplay Contest, one of the most awaited attractions of the largest pop culture festival on the planet – which takes place between December 5 and 8, at the São Paulo Expo.
The contest will be individual and with themes of characters from pop culture, coming from comics, cinema, games, series, films and music, among others. To participate, it is necessary to access the website https://www.ccxp.com.br/cosplay and fill the form with the requested data, in addition to sending photos and a video of the performance.
It will be possible to register until October 28 (Monday) and participants must use all the resources at their disposal to perfect their custom. The first qualifying stage takes place on the internet. The public will be able to vote for the favorite cosplays on the site between October 29 and November 11. Already on the day November 12 finalists will be known who will earn credentials for all festival days and participate in the grand final, which takes place on the day December 8 and will feature the Italian cosplayer Leon Chiro on the jury. The main prize for whoever holds the title of Master Cosplay gives CCXP19 it’s a 0 km car, plus credentials Full Experience gives CCXP20.
“Cosplayers are a very important part of the big celebration of pop culture that is CCXP. They bring the event to life and are a huge success with the public and the media. Our contest is a way to give more visibility to these artists, who spend the whole year thinking about how to excel in customs and performances. Held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the parades are not part of the Cosplay Contest, but they also happen in the Creators Stage. Any cosplayer who is at the event can participate, as long as they register for the event. Cosplay Universe – area designed exclusively for these artists. The space has a dressing room equipped with luggage storage (limited spaces), mirrors and makeup benches, dressing rooms for changing clothes and cosplay helper, for those last minute adjustments.
In 2018, the festival received 262 thousand visitors, setting a record attendance and establishing itself once again as the largest pop culture festival in the world.
