Female participation will be in evidence in the Artists’ Alley gives CCXP19. In addition to the real growth in the presence of women – from 32%, in 2018, to 38% this year – respect for them in the job market is the theme of Santa Catarina’s most recent launch Fefê Torquato. The artist will be present during all days of the festival, including Spoiler Night, in the space where comic artists and illustrators from different sides present their work and interact with the public. THE CCXP19 takes place between December 5th and 8th, at São Paulo Expo.
Formed by the school of Fine Arts of Paraná, Fefê has been a comic artist since 2014. Among his works are Cat Girl -Vol. 1 (Ed. Nemo, 2015), Strangers and the terror booklet THE (independent, 2016). After two years devoting herself exclusively to illustration and watercolor, she returns to comics with Tina – Respect (2019), project by Graphic MSP, which brings stories of classic characters from Mauricio de Sousa from the perspective of new and renowned Brazilian artists. In the work, Fefê presents one of the most urgent themes of today: harassment at work.
In its 6th edition, the festival has already confirmed renowned Brazilian comic artists as Mike Deodato Jr., Laerte, Germana Viana, Rebeca Prado, Ju Loyola, André Dahmer, Robson Rocha, Jun Sugiyama and Alexandre Carvalho. International names include Neal Adams, Joëlle Jones, Frank Quitely, Eduardo Risso and Charlie Adlard, among others. The Artists’ Alley by CCXP is one of the largest in the world and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
In 2018, the festival received 262 thousand visitors, setting a record attendance and establishing itself once again as the largest pop culture festival in the world.
