The wait is over: Captain Marvel’s debut finally took place today, March 7, in theaters across Brazil. Being the twenty-first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the very first to be starring a woman, it has its launch in honor of Women’s Day, which is celebrated tomorrow around the world – a date that also marks the star of the film in the United States , where premieres usually take place on Fridays and not on Thursdays as in Brazil.
Set in the 90s, she tells how pilot Carol Danvers, played by award-winning Brie Larson, ends up getting involved in the explosion of kree machinery. The radiation from the explosion hits Carol and transforms her into a kree / human genetic hybrid, acquiring super strength, flight ability and a “seventh sense”. With these abilities, she transforms into Captain Marvel and finds herself in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Check out the trailer:
His introduction to the MCU through this solo film will be of paramount importance for the fourth film in the Avengers franchise, Avengers: Ultimatum, which hits theaters on April 25. In the feature film to be released, Carol Danvers will join forces with the already known team to restore peace in the world, whatever the cost.
