News for the live-action of The Little Mermaid!

According to Deadline information, the actors Cameron Cuffe and Jonah Hauer-King are rated for the role of Prince Eric.

Cuffe is best known for his role as Mon-El on the Serie Krypton.

Hauer-King played Laurie Laurence in the miniseries Little Women shown in 2017 and the film Way home.

The Little Mermaid was released in 1989, the feature marks the Golden Age of the studio’s animations in the late 80’s, and early 90’s, with Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, and all the previous ones have seen films in live-action.

In the plot, Ariel is a sixteen-year-old princess mermaid dissatisfied with life under the sea and curious about the world on earth. She falls in love with a human prince and makes a deal with the sea witch to transform herself into a human.

In the cast we have the actors Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy negotiates the role of the villain Ursula, and still Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina. Apart from Bailey, Disney did not confirm any other names.

Rob Marshall should drive, and Lin-Manuel Miranda produced new songs along with Alan Menken.

David Magee wrote the script.

The live action of The Little Mermaid has no confirmed release date.
