Recently, Stargirl was confirmed to receive a live-action series, scheduled to be written and produced by Geoff Johns in partnership with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Johns is the original creator of Stargirl in the comics, and the character emerged as a tribute to his sister. Now, the protagonist already has a face: Brec Bassinger.
Bassinger is an actress, model and youtuber, mainly known for having participated in the series Bella Dawson, released by Nickelodeon between the years 2015 and 2016, but she will not be the first to play Stargirl, a character who has appeared in Legends of Tomorrow and Smallville, being played by Sarah Gray and Britt Irvin, respectively.
The series is set to have 13 episodes, at least in its first season, and will follow the life of schoolgirl Courtney Whitmore, Stargirl, who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes, the Justice Society of America, to deter the villains of the past. The production will be launched by DC Universe, DC Comics’ new streaming service.
The DC Universe service can be purchased in the United States for an annual fee of $ 74.99 or $ 7.99 per month. In Brazil, however, there is still no forecast for the arrival of streaming. New announcements about its future content continue to be revealed.
