Boruto: latest episode has easter egg over manga arc

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations continues in full swing and its most recent episode, aired in Japan last Sunday (15) featured an easter egg that mentioned one of the manga’s main arcs.

Warning: spoilers below

In the episode, Boruto was able to take a rest after going through trouble with the Bandits Mujina recently. However, the ninja soon received a mission to protect the son of the leader of the Land of Fire.

This boy is called Tento and is obsessed with that ninja card game and contains several of them. He decides to show his collection to the protagonist and a letter was from Ao, one of the most important characters in the Water Village and who appeared in Naruto.

This appearance of the ninja may have been a simple Easter egg for the character, but anyone who reads Boruto’s manga knows that one of the main arcs of the work involves Ao himself. This could also be a possible indication that it may be adapted soon for the anime.

About Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations tells the events following the manga and anime by Naruto Shippuden. With Naruto Uzumaki already occupying the position of Seventh Hokage, the anime follows the story of his son, Boruto, trying to complete his training as a ninja and facing dangers that put all Konoha at risk.

Boruto’s team is formed by him, Sarada Uchiha, daughter of his father’s old rival, Sasuke, and Mitsuki, artificial son of the old villain Orochimaru.

Contrary to what happened between Naruto and Sasuke in their youth, Boruto and Sarada have a good relationship, just like Mitsuki. The team is led by Konohamaru Sarutobi, one of the Seventh Hokage’s trusted men.

The story deals directly with Konoha’s fate, with the anime beginning with a time advance where a Boruto already experienced battle against an enemy known only as Kawaki. Both have the brand called Karma, which gives great power to the wearer.

The anime can be viewed with Portuguese subtitles on Crunchyroll.
