The award winning cinematograph Bill Pope, responsible for Sam Raimi, like the trilogy Spider man, by the trilogy Matrixsisters Wachowski and also by Scott Pilgrim Against the World, has just joined the production team of Master of Kung-Fu, gives Marvel Studios.
The character Shang-Chi was created in the 1970s by Steve Englehart and the artist Jim Starlin and was conceived in Marvel Comics’ desire to acquire the rights to the TV series Kung Fu, which was denied. So they acquired the rights of the villain Fu Manshu and created Shang-Chi as the villain’s son. Shang-Chi was raised and trained by his father in the martial arts, but when he understood his evil, he turned against his father.
The roadmap for Master of Kung Fu is in the hands of Dave Callaham who is Chinese American. Callanham co-wrote for Wonder Woman 1984, which debuts in 2020, and wrote the first drafts of Zombieland 2. Today he works in Spider-Man in Spider-Man 2, sequence confirmed by Sony Pictures.
The feature will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, indie film director Short Term 12 (Temporary 12).
Master of Kung Fu has no release date yet.
