BGS 2019 | Dolmen did well on Avenida Indie

Dolmen started to be developed three years ago by the developer Massive Work Studio based in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The game made its debut on Brasil Game Show in 2016 as a prototype produced in just 45 days using the Unity as an engine. The purpose of its creators was to show the concept of what they had in mind and to seek to attract investors and thus raise funds for the project.

In 2017, the project had already evolved a lot, now using the Unreal engine and with a larger team than the initial one, approximately 20 people in all. And once again the developer made sure to take the game to the Brasil Game Show that year, now in an Alpha version.

And the game apparently appealed so much during the days it was shown on Brasil Game Show 2017 that as soon as Massive Work Studio created a campaign on Kickstarter the following year, it obtained 585 financiers and exceeded the initial target of $ 15,000 in just 35 days.

The game takes place in a distant future where humanity now uses solar flares as an energy source. During a maintenance mission to one of these filter satellites that capture these explosions, a group of astronauts is abducted by an alien intelligence that takes them into the world of Revion Prime. The protagonist, wakes up alone and without knowing exactly where he is. To make matters worse he finds no sign of his teammates. It remains for him to go out in search of answers while trying to find a way to get home.

The game is a third-person RPG, with a mix of sci-fi and horror that resembles a lot Dead Space of the deceased Visceral Games. Besides Dead Space, the game also seems to have used games like Dark Souls and Mass Effect but with the idea of bringing a personal touch to the creators.

In addition to the game Massive Work Studio, is also developing a HQ to help us learn a little more about the universe in which the game takes place.

The game really looks very promising and it’s not just me who think that. The developer’s booth was always full during this BGS 2019, drawing the attention of those who passed by, either by the concept or the polished look that the game shows.

It is certainly a game worth watching if you are interested in its proposal.

Dolmen is practically in the final stage of development and its launch window is scheduled between the months of March and April 2020. The game comes first to PRAÇA (Steam) and later to PlayStation and Xbox one.
