With nipples in sight, a military look, and the new version used by Robert Pattinson… The Batman he has worn several uniforms throughout his career in cinema.
So, let’s recall some of the uniforms that the Gotham City Watchman has ever worn?
Played by Michael Keaton, the feature was one of the first costumes in the recent history of the character in cinema. Released in the late 1980s, the film was directed by Tim Burton and followed Brune Wayne, that after witnessing the brutal death of his parents as a child, he fights crime in the city of Gotham disguised as the hero Batman.
But when a crazy and deformed self-proclaimed Joker begins to control the criminal underworld in Gotham, Batman must face his most wicked enemy to protect his identity and the woman he loves, reporter Vicki Vale.
Batman: The Return (1992)
The return of the character in theaters came in the early 90s, with Michael Keaton back in the role of the character. Batman’s uniform didn’t change much, just the villains he had to face.
This time the character must face the monstrous Penguin, who lives on the outskirts of Gotham, and diabolic businessman Max Shreck who want to beat Batman once and for all. However, Shreck’s secretary, Selina Kyle, discovers the plans and becomes the irresistible Catwoman who allies herself in the destruction of Batman.
Batman Forever (1995)
Still in the 90s, the Batman wins a new director Joel Schumacher and a new actor to play the character. The actor Val Kilmer takes over from Michael Keaton, and so the character clearly gains a new, more metallic outfit that shows the character’s body parts.
Thus, in the new film we see Batman on the streets of Gotham, ready to defend the law, but this time the danger comes twice.
The villain Two Faces has the luck to get back at Batman and Riddler is a criminal genius full of tricks and diabolical ideas. Together, they want to discover the Bat Man’s secret identity and destroy him. Batman has the help of irresistible Dr. Chase Meridian, a psychologist specializing in dual personalities, and the young acrobat who becomes his new partner, Robin.
Batman & Robin (1997)
Still in the 90’s, the character gains a sequence only this time with George Clooney on paper, he is the third actor who takes on the mantle of Batman. And of course, the character gets a new uniform, the iconic and controversial … yes, the one with the striking nipples.
In the feature, Batman and Robin need to maintain their partnership in order to prevent Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.
After being a critical failure, the character rests the image until he returns in the early 2000s.
Batman Begins (2005)
With a more realistic footprint and ground foot, the director Christopher Nolan takes over the franchise and is the first to complete a trilogy for the character. With Christian Bale like the character, Batman gets a new, darker, stoner uniform without much detail.
In the film, young Bruce Wayne travels to the Far East, where he receives martial arts training from master Henri Ducard, a member of the mysterious League of Shadows. When Ducard reveals that the League’s real proposal is the complete destruction of the city of Gotham, Wayne returns to his city in order to free it from criminals and murderers. With the help of butler Alfred and expert Lucius Fox, Batman is born.
Batman the dark knight (2008)
Batman the dark knight, is perhaps one of the most well-known and important films about the character, this is where the character makes over 1 billion dollars in box office around the world.
The actor Christian Bale returns as the character, and Batman’s uniform takes on a more military style like that of the first film.
With the help of Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent, Batman has maintained order in the city of Gotham. But a young and anarchic criminal known as the Joker gains strength and decides to wreak havoc in the city. The vigilante will be tested psychologically and physically as never before in a very personal confrontation. It is up to Batman to find a way to stop the sadistic villain before more lives are lost.
Batman the Dark Knight Rises (2012)
In the early 10’s, Nolan ends his trilogy and actor Christian Bale returns as the character. Of course, Batman has his look updated for this new moment.
After being blamed for Harvey Dent’s death and going from hero to villain, Batman disappears. Things change with the arrival of a mysterious thief, Catwoman, and Bane, a masked terrorist, who make Batman abandon his forced exile.
Batman Vs Superman (2016)
THE Batman returns to theaters at the hands of the director Zack Snyder in an older, tired, and more violent version. Like this, Ben Affleck takes on the character’s mantle and his uniform reflects that.
While many consider Superman as a new god, there are those who consider it extremely dangerous that there is such a powerful being without any kind of control. Bruce Wayne is one of those who believe in this second hypothesis. With that, under the cover of a violent and obsessed Batman, they face each other while the world wonders what kind of hero needs.
Justice League (2017)
Ben Affleck’s Batman appears again, and for the last time, in the film Justice League that unites the greatest characters of DC. The uniform worn is less worn than seen in Batman Vs Superman, where few changes have been made.
Driven by the restoration of his faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne summons his new ally Diana Prince to fight an even greater, newly awakened enemy. The Batman (2021)
With Matt Reeves in the direction, the actor Robert Pattinson takes on the mantle of the character who will win a new movie in theaters.
The director released a camera test of the film where we could see in detail a little of the character’s look.
